Sandy Yu

Sandy was born in the Philippines, where she spent most of her childhood. Even at a young age, she has always enjoyed performing in front of an audience through various productions and competitions, acting, singing and dancing. Although she spent several years focusing on her academics, earning her degree in Math/Accounting from UCLA and working in the corporate world, she is now pursuing her acting career more seriously.

She has since trained under acting coaches Bobbie Chance at Expressions Unlimited, and, David Blanchard and Martin Barter through East West Players. She's worked on various film, stage and commercial projects over the past couple of years. She's also performed as a Hula dancer with the Hawaiian Headliners ever since 2007, singing regularly in her church and trained with Bart Robley as a drummer.

She considers it a tremendous blessing from God to be a part of hereandnow Theatre Company since 2007 and to be under the direction of John Miyasaki, who has helped in nurturing her as an artist.
